Synopsis

In The Copper Tea Strainer, Jeannie Dunn finds herself ensnared in a web of suspicion when the police arrive at her workplace to investigate the poisoning of her invalid mother. The story opens with Jeannie in a dressing room, preparing to leave after a modeling session, when a detective named James Irwin unexpectedly arrives, seeking her out. The atmosphere is tense, amplified by the relentless rain pounding on the skylight, which drowns out the conversation and adds to Jeannie's growing anxiety. She feels a sense of foreboding as Irwin's voice cuts through the noise, and her instincts tell her that something is terribly wrong.
