Synopsis

In the gripping episode The Lie from the classic radio series Suspense, we meet Martin Delavan, a young college student who returns home after being expelled. The weight of his academic failures hangs heavily on him as he navigates the disappointment of his mother and the shadow of his father's expectations. The atmosphere is thick with tension as Martin anticipates the harsh words he knows will greet him upon his arrival. His mother, a critical and unforgiving figure, embodies the disappointment he fears, and he imagines her scathing remarks about his wasted potential. The narrative sets the stage for a tale of desperation and familial loyalty.
