Synopsis

In The Big Foot Grafton Case, Richard Diamond, a private detective, is approached by Lieutenant Walt with a peculiar request. The body of Big Foot Grafton, a known racketeer, has been recovered from the river, and Walt wants Diamond to attend the funeral. The police suspect that members of Grafton's criminal associates might show up, and Diamond's familiarity with the underworld could prove useful. However, the case takes an unexpected turn when two members of the Ducklings ladies' softball team enter Diamond's office, seeking help in finding their missing second baseman, Lottie Wieracek.
