Synopsis
In Earth Abides Part 1, we meet Isherwood Williams, a student of ecology who finds himself in the Northern California wilderness, gathering specimens when he is bitten by a rattlesnake. Alone and feeling the effects of the venom, he struggles to survive, but soon discovers that his real battle lies ahead. After regaining consciousness, he realizes that he is not just alone in the wilderness; he is in a world that has been irrevocably changed.
