Synopsis

In Secrets of Scotland Yard: Story of Walter Miller, we are introduced to Walter Miller, a brunner and plasterer whose aversion to honest work drives him into a life of crime. Set in the late 19th century, Miller's character is painted as a man who believes he deserves a life of luxury without the toil that comes with it. His disdain for labor is evident in his conversations at the local pub, where he dreams of wealth and a carefree existence. This desire sets the stage for his eventual downfall as he becomes fixated on the Reverend Elias Hewlin, a man who embodies the very wealth Miller covets.
