Synopsis

In Motive for Murder, a gripping episode of Suspense, a detective returns home to a shocking scene: a dead salesman, Victor Hamilton, lies in his apartment, and his wife, Mary, is the prime suspect in his murder. The story unfolds as the detective grapples with the emotional turmoil of the situation, torn between his duty to uphold the law and his desperate need to protect his wife. The atmosphere is thick with tension as he navigates the chaos of the crime scene, where familiar faces from his past complicate the investigation. The detective's friend, Doc Deussen, tries to assist him, but the evidence seems stacked against Mary. The detective recalls the routine of writing reports, knowing all too well that he will have to confront the grim realities of the case, especially as the D.A.'s office prepares to move forward with charges against her.
