Synopsis

In the gripping episode titled The Badge from Gunsmoke, we meet Augie, a not-too-bright bank robber who, in a moment of reckless ambition, shoots U.S. Marshal Matt Dillon. Augie's motivation stems from a desire to wear a badge, believing it will elevate his status and make him feel important. His partner, Rack, is the brains of the operation, but even he is taken aback by Augie's impulsive decision to shoot a lawman. As they contemplate their next move, Rack devises a plan to keep Dillon alive, recognizing that having a U.S. Marshal at their mercy could provide them with a significant advantage in their escape from the law.
