Synopsis

In the episode titled Gun for Chester from Gunsmoke, Chester Proudfoot is gripped by fear as he believes that Asa Ledbetter has come to Dodge City with the intent to kill him. Chester's paranoia stems from his past encounters with Ledbetter in Live Oak County, Texas, where he claims that the law is often absent, and justice is hard to come by. U.S. Marshal Matt Dillon, ever the protector of Dodge City, tries to reassure Chester, but the latter's anxiety only deepens as he insists that Ledbetter is indeed after him.
