Synopsis
In Journey Among the Lost, we are transported back 108 years to a prison in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where Dorothea Dix, played by Gene Arthur, arrives to visit women incarcerated for various crimes. Among them are Mary, convicted of murder, Elizabeth, arrested for arson, and Clara, a pickpocket. However, Dix's attention is drawn to another group of women kept behind a closed door, labeled as 'loony' by the prison staff. Her compassion compels her to advocate for their rights, despite the dismissive attitude of the prison guards.
