Synopsis
In The Reluctant Heroes, we find Chapman, a seasoned moon veteran, awake in the cramped quarters of a lunar research bunker. His fellow crew members are asleep, and as he prepares for another day on the moon, he receives a message that he is to stay for an extended tour of duty. The atmosphere is thick with the stale air of confinement, and the crew's banter reveals their shared weariness and reluctance about their situation. Chapman, who has already spent three years on the moon, is frustrated by the prospect of another eighteen months away from Earth, especially as he has personal ties waiting for him back home.
