Synopsis
In The Murder of Aunt Delia, the story unfolds with Dort Sharples, a hitchhiker traveling through the sweltering Arizona desert, seeking a ride to Los Angeles. After a long and exhausting trek, he finally catches a break when a black sedan pulls over, driven by Glendon Braley, a young man who is also headed to California. As they drive, Dort learns that Glendon is en route to visit his invalid aunt, Aunt Delia, who has recently lost her husband. This revelation piques Dort's interest, as he begins to formulate a plan that he believes could change his life forever.
