Synopsis
In the heart of the Amazon jungle, two men, Tony and Dr. Messenger, embark on an ambitious expedition to uncover the lost city of Demerara. Their journey begins with a sense of excitement and adventure, as they leave behind the familiarity of England for the lush, vibrant landscapes of South America. Upon arriving at the mouth of the Orinoco River, they are greeted by the breathtaking beauty of the tropics, which initially fills them with hope and anticipation. However, this optimism quickly fades as they begin to sense an underlying tension among the local natives they have hired to assist them. Despite their initial enthusiasm, the natives express their fear and reluctance to continue deeper into the jungle, ultimately abandoning Tony and Dr. Messenger in the dead of night.
