Synopsis

In Sweet Are the Uses of Publicity, George Valentine receives a peculiar request from Jacob S. Flannery, a publicity agent in dire straits. Flannery reveals that he has created a fictional character named Caleb Romano, a charming bachelor who has become the centerpiece of his career. With a farewell party planned for Romano, Flannery's anxiety mounts as he fears the press will uncover the truth about his nonexistent client. George is tasked with being the bodyguard for this fictional persona, a job that seems absurd yet crucial for Flannery's reputation.
