Synopsis

In The Deserter, the tranquility of Dodge City is shattered when a soldier steals an army payroll, leading to a violent confrontation. The soldier, Lurie Morton, manages to escape but not without consequences; he is shot during the heist. As he hides out with his parents, the local U.S. Marshal, Matt Dillon, is alerted to the situation when Chester, his deputy and friend, is shot by Lurie in an unexpected encounter.
