Synopsis

In the episode Sunny Afternoon from Gunsmoke, Dodge City is gripped by an unforgiving winter, the worst the townspeople have ever experienced. With blizzards piling snow high and resources running low, the town's miser, Joshua Sideroy, hoards hay, refusing to sell it at a fair price. This creates a desperate situation for struggling neighbors like Ned Crater, who is on the brink of losing his cattle due to lack of feed. As tensions mount, the Long Branch saloon becomes one of the few warm refuges in town, where conversations about the dire circumstances unfold.
