Synopsis
In The Blue Cockade, part of the Cavalcade of America series, the story unfolds during the harsh winter of 1781, four miles west of Morristown, New Jersey. Soldiers of General Anthony Wayne's Pennsylvania Line are growing restless and frustrated with their treatment. Led by George Mitchell, they feel betrayed after years of fighting without the promised rewards, such as bonuses for new recruits. As they contemplate revolt, the stakes rise when they decide to demand their rights directly from Congress.
