Synopsis
In Page One, we meet a young Joseph Pulitzer, who has just arrived in America, filled with hope and ambition. The year is 1864, and after enlisting in the Union Army, he is eager to find work and contribute to his new homeland. However, the harsh realities of life as an immigrant quickly set in when he and other veterans are swindled by a conman while seeking jobs in Louisiana. They are left stranded, filled with frustration and anger at the betrayal they have experienced.
