Synopsis
In Fat Girl, the USS Neosho, an auxiliary oil tanker, is introduced as a crucial yet underestimated vessel in the Pacific fleet during World War II. Captain John S. Phillips commands the ship, which is often mocked for its ungainly shape, earning the nickname 'Fat Girl' from the more glamorous warships. Despite the ridicule, the Neosho's mission is vital: to supply fuel to the Navy's fighting ships, a task that becomes increasingly dangerous as war looms.
