In The Jackson Street Affair, we meet Catherine Marley, a young woman managing a rooming house in San Francisco. The once-grand structure has seen better days, but Catherine is focused on her immediate concerns. She paces nervously in her parlor, anxious about the arrival of Fred Rawlings, a merchant marine who is searching for his friend, Carl Pennell. Unbeknownst to Fred, Carl has recently been murdered by Catherine and her accomplice, Alex. The stakes are high as they fear that Fred's arrival could unravel their carefully constructed lies.
