Synopsis

In The First Year, Lydia Winters stands on the brink of a new life as she prepares to marry Elliot Larkin on New Year's Eve. The excitement of the impending union is palpable, but Lydia's uncle, Philip, harbors deep concerns about her choice. He believes that Elliot is a fortune hunter, unworthy of Lydia's affection. Despite his warnings, Lydia is determined to marry Elliot, dismissing her uncle's advice as outdated and irrelevant. The tension between Lydia and Philip sets the stage for a conflict that will have dire consequences.
