Synopsis

In The Noose of Coincidence, we are introduced to Christopher Swan, a mild-mannered bookseller who runs a quaint shop in London. His life is characterized by routine and simplicity, with the only hint of excitement coming from the seasonal task of clearing away the nests of birds that build under the sign of his shop. As spring arrives, he finds himself engaged in this annual chore when a peculiar encounter changes the course of his life. A man, also named Christopher Swan, enters the shop and introduces himself as a mental telepathist and prophet of the future. This stranger's confidence and uncanny knowledge about Christopher's life, including details about a future wife named Margaret, pique the bookseller's curiosity, despite his initial skepticism.
