Synopsis

In The Story of Ivy, Ivy Lexton, a once-celebrated actress, recounts her tumultuous rise from the impoverished streets of Soho to the glamorous heights of fame, all while facing the grim reality of her impending execution. The narrative unfolds as Ivy sits down with journalist Victoria Matthews to share her life story, a tale steeped in ambition, desire, and ultimately, tragedy. Ivy begins her recollection with a vivid description of her childhood, born as Ivy Gudge in a dilapidated neighborhood, where she dreams of wealth and status. Inspired by the life of Nell Gwyn, a commoner who captured the heart of a king, Ivy resolves to escape her dismal beginnings at any cost.
