Synopsis
In The Cross-Eyed Bear, a thrilling episode of Suspense, Lisanne Steffen, a young and adventurous woman, finds herself drawn into a dangerous web of intrigue after responding to a mysterious job advertisement. The ad promises adventure and a good salary, but Lisanne quickly discovers that the position is far more perilous than she anticipated. Set against the backdrop of Midtown New York, the story begins with Lisanne reading the ad multiple times, intrigued by its promise of excitement. Upon arriving at the Lorenzo Hotel, she meets Bill Fulker, a charming but enigmatic man who reveals that the job involves gaining the trust of Lans Villius, one of the heirs to a deceased millionaire's fortune. The millionaire, Knut Villius, has left behind a will designed to incite murder among his three sons, with a cheque for three million dollars divided into three pieces, each piece belonging to one son. The catch is that all three pieces must be presented together for the cheque to be valid, creating a deadly competition among the heirs.
