In Escape from Smoke Falls, Britt Ponset, known as the Six Shooter, unexpectedly extends his stay in the small town of Smoke Falls to help his old friend, dad Somerset, who is recovering from an ailment. Britt's intention to move on is disrupted when he receives an invitation from Grace Proudly, the president of the Ladies' Aid Society, to attend a charity box supper and square dance.
