Synopsis
In Charles Piece, Clive Brook introduces listeners to the notorious figure of Charles Peace, a man whose life is marked by violence and deception. The story begins with the trial of William Habron, accused of murdering Police Constable Nicholas Cock. As the jury deliberates, a man in the courtroom places a bet on Habron's fate, confident in his belief that the evidence is flimsy. Unbeknownst to everyone, this man is Charles Peace, who knows that Habron is innocent because he himself is the true murderer. This sets the stage for a tale of intrigue and moral ambiguity.
