In The Butcher Shop, Richard Diamond, a savvy private detective, finds himself embroiled in a dangerous situation when his friend, Angelino Giuseppe, a butcher, seeks his help. Angelino reveals that he and other independent butchers are being extorted by thugs who demand weekly payments under the threat of violence. After suffering a brutal attack himself, Angelino is desperate for assistance but is too afraid to involve the police, fearing further retaliation.
