In A Double Masquerade, the story begins with young Mark Weaver, who is perplexed by his mother's unusual behavior one evening. As they sit in their small ranch house, Sarah Weaver reveals a long-held secret about Mark's father, who he believed was killed during an Indian attack. Instead, she discloses that his father was murdered by Job Clark, a man who has evaded justice for years. This revelation sets the stage for Mark's quest for vengeance, armed with his father's guns that have been locked away for years.
