Synopsis
In The Boots, we meet Zeno Smith, a once-renowned gunfighter who has succumbed to alcoholism and lives in the shadow of his past. Zeno's only companion is Tommy, a thirteen-year-old orphan who looks up to him despite his flaws. As Tommy's birthday approaches, Zeno promises him a pair of boots, but his drinking threatens to derail this simple gesture of love and support. The townsfolk of Dodge City are aware of Zeno's reputation and his current state, and they treat him with a mix of disdain and pity.
