Synopsis
In The Big Set-Up, detectives Joe Friday and Ben Romero are on the case of a sophisticated burglary ring that has plagued Los Angeles' wealthy neighborhoods. The gang has executed a series of daring heists, stealing furs and jewels worth over $100,000. With each burglary, the thieves leave no trace, and the detectives are under increasing pressure from the victims and their insurance companies to solve the case. The detectives gather information from the latest victims, Mr. and Mrs. Peterson, who report that their home was ransacked while they were out, following the same pattern as previous burglaries.
