Synopsis

In Patriot with the Chestnut Curls, we are transported to July 9, 1776, where young Sally Townsend stands witness to a momentous occasion—the reading of the Declaration of Independence in New York City. This event marks a significant turning point in American history, and Sally feels both privileged and anxious as she grapples with her family's conflicting loyalties. Her father, a member of the New York State Provisional Congress, embodies the spirit of rebellion, while her brother Robert's allegiance to the British crown complicates their family dynamics.
