Synopsis

The Fields Are Green tells the story of Walt and Bill Carlin, two brothers from Coatesville, Pennsylvania, who are determined to save their family's struggling farm. The narrative begins with their father contemplating selling the land due to its poor condition, a decision that deeply troubles the boys. They overhear their father's conversation about the farm's fate and feel a strong urge to take matters into their own hands. Despite the skepticism of others, including a local farmer, Ed Johnson, who believes the land is beyond saving, the brothers are inspired by their education and their love for farming.
