Synopsis

In the episode The Raft from Cavalcade of America, we are introduced to Eddie Rickenbacker, played by Robert Montgomery, who shares a gripping true story from World War II. The adventure begins with a secret Air Force mission that takes a perilous turn when their plane runs out of fuel over the vast Pacific Ocean. Forced to ditch the aircraft, Rickenbacker and Colonel Adamson find themselves on a small raft, cut off from the world and at the mercy of the elements.
