Synopsis
In the Cavalcade of America episode Signal to the World, Cary Grant takes on the role of Robert Townsend, a man living in New York City during the tumultuous year of 1780. As the American Revolutionary War rages on, Townsend enjoys a seemingly idyllic life with his charming wife, Susan. However, the undercurrents of war begin to disrupt their peace when Townsend expresses concern about the fate of the rebels. His conversation with Sir Henry Clinton, a British commander, reveals the precarious situation of the colonists and foreshadows the imminent danger that lies ahead.
