In The Law West of the Pecos, we meet Roy Bean, played by Walter Brennan, a man whose life takes a dramatic turn when he arrives in the chaotic town of Vinegaroon, Texas. The year is 1882, and the town is filled with workers and opportunists, all waiting for the arrival of the railroad. However, the law is far from present, and the residents are left to fend for themselves in a lawless environment. Bean, a former soldier and adventurer, sees an opportunity to assert himself as the law in a place where authority is desperately needed.
