Synopsis
The Will to Explore takes listeners back to 1804, when President Thomas Jefferson commissioned Meriwether Lewis to lead an expedition into the newly acquired territories of the United States. Joined by William Clark, Lewis gathers a diverse group of 45 men, including the French-Indian guide Sacagawea and her husband, Charbonneau. As they prepare to embark from La Charette, the last outpost of civilization, they are met with skepticism about the inclusion of a woman on the journey. Yet, the spirit of exploration drives them forward into the unknown.
