Synopsis
In The Max Wendell Murder Case, Detective Danny Clover receives a frantic call from Max Wendell, a storekeeper who claims to be in trouble. When Clover arrives at Wendell's shop, he finds a man desperate to escape his past as an addict. Wendell reveals that a former associate has approached him with an offer to distribute narcotics, a deal he is unwilling to accept. Just as he begins to explain the situation, Wendell is shot, leaving Clover to confront the killer, Frank Howard, whom he ultimately kills in self-defense.
