Synopsis

In The Watch on the Rhine, a German family arrives in the United States just before the outbreak of World War II, seeking refuge from the horrors of their homeland. Kurt Miller, the father, is a weary refugee who has brought his American-born wife, Sarah, and their three children to the home of their relatives, the Farreles. The family is filled with hope for a peaceful life, yet they are haunted by the memories of their past and the oppressive regime they have fled.
