Synopsis

In Jezebel, the story unfolds in the vibrant yet oppressive atmosphere of New Orleans in 1850. Julie Marsden, played by Bette Davis, is a headstrong young woman who refuses to conform to the societal expectations of her time. As she prepares for the prestigious Olympus ball, she decides to wear a striking red dress, a bold choice that defies the customs dictating that unmarried women should wear white. This decision sets the stage for a tumultuous conflict with her fiancé, Preston Billard.
