In the gripping episode Autumn Song, Sidney Shelton is on a train bound for New York, having been unceremoniously ousted from Hollywood. With a one-way ticket and no one to bid him farewell, he reflects on the career that has crumbled around him, largely due to his association with Sheila Martin, a woman he once believed would bring him success. As he watches happy travelers outside his window, he feels a sense of impending doom, knowing that his journey may lead to oblivion rather than opportunity.
