Synopsis
In the Whistler episode titled Destiny, we meet Milton Strong, a 45-year-old bookkeeper who has spent 25 years in a dead-end job earning a meager salary of $35 a week. Milton is a timid man, often overshadowed by his overbearing wife, Martha, who constantly berates him for his lack of ambition. After a lecture from Martha, Milton finally musters the courage to ask his boss, Mr. Goulthright, for a raise. However, he is met with shocking news: instead of a raise, he is being retired at half salary due to a recommendation from his department head.
