Synopsis
In The Phony Geologist, the story begins at the Double R Bar Ranch, where Roy Rogers and his friend Jonah Wild are drawn into a web of deceit and crime. They learn about Professor Douglas Manson, a supposed geologist, and his wife Grace, who are staying at Dale's hotel. While Grace is busy knitting, Douglas is secretly smuggling contraband across the border, cleverly disguising his illegal activities with a padded hump on his back. The couple's seemingly mundane life is a facade for a more sinister operation.
