Synopsis

In The Ladies Night, Philip Marlowe receives an intriguing case from Gigi Almsby, a magazine editor who is desperate to find her missing writer, Henrietta Lawrence. Gigi describes Henrietta as a talented but nervous hack writer who recently submitted excellent work but vanished just before her latest installment was due. The last anyone saw of her was when she fled from an unknown figure in a car, leaving Gigi worried about her well-being.
