Synopsis
In The Young Easterner, the story begins with a train journey to Hilton, where a dishonest lawyer, Jim Miller, concocts a scheme to defraud a young man named Bert Sawyer of his inheritance. Bert, who is unaware of the danger that awaits him, is set to inherit a mine from his late uncle. Miller's plan involves hiring a gambler to impersonate Bert, hoping to manipulate the situation to his advantage.
