In Platt Is Arrested, part of Jerry of the Circus, the excitement begins when Jerry and his friend Bumps read about the arrest of Steven Platt, a baggage master implicated in a sensational mail robbery from four years prior. The news brings a mix of relief and concern, as they realize that their detective work has contributed to the capture of Platt, which may help exonerate their friend Spike, who is currently serving a twenty-year sentence for the crime.
