In The Adventure of The Count Trefanno Crest, Frank Race, a man whose life has shifted dramatically since serving in the OSS during the war, finds himself embroiled in a new mystery. While relaxing in his hotel room, he is approached by Viventi, a chauffeur who is anxious about his employer, Jonathan Templeton, who has mysteriously disappeared. Viventi's fear of police involvement raises immediate red flags, suggesting that Templeton's disappearance is more than just a simple case of a man leaving town.
