Synopsis

In Down Brake, part of the Cavalcade of America series, we meet George Westinghouse, a young man who has returned from the chaos of war to a life that feels mundane and unexciting. Set in 1866, George grapples with the expectations of his father, who insists he continue his education at Union College. However, George's experiences in the war have left him feeling impatient and restless, yearning for the thrill of innovation rather than the confines of a classroom.
