Synopsis

In Whither Thou Goest, the story unfolds in the mountains of Tennessee in 1826, where Eliza McCardell encounters Andy Johnson, a weary traveler from Carolina. Andy arrives with a blind horse and a dilapidated cart, seeking a new beginning. Eliza, intrigued by his plight, offers to help him find a place to stay in Greenville. Their conversation reveals Andy's lack of formal education, and Eliza's compassion leads her to offer him assistance in learning to read and write.
