Synopsis
The Girl Who Ran for President introduces us to Belva Lockwood, a woman ahead of her time, who is determined to break the glass ceiling in a male-dominated society. Set in the 1870s, the story begins with Belva's frustrating experience while applying for a teaching position. Despite her impressive qualifications, she is offered a salary significantly lower than her male counterparts simply because she is a woman. This moment ignites her ambition to fight against the systemic inequalities faced by women.
