Synopsis

In That Skipper from Stonington, we meet Captain Richard Loper, a young man with dreams of becoming a whaler, just like his father and grandfather before him. Set in 1820, Richard finds himself in charge of a passenger packet, a slow and cumbersome vessel that is far from the adventurous whaling ships of his dreams. Despite the mundane nature of his current role, Richard's heart is set on the sea and the thrill of hunting whales, a passion that has consumed him since childhood.
