Synopsis

In the episode Wings to Glory from Cavalcade of America, we meet John Joseph Montgomery, a visionary living in California in 1883. Montgomery is captivated by the idea of flight, inspired by the effortless gliding of gulls overhead. Despite his father's pragmatic concerns about his dreams, John feels a deep calling to create a machine that can lift a person off the ground. His father, while supportive, worries about the implications of such ambitions, urging him to consider a more sensible path in life.
